Tourist visa

Tourist visa is issued for foreign individuals who are interested in traveling to Iran individually or with a group for the purpose of visiting Iran or their relatives. Tourist visa is the first popular and most issued visa type for foreigners.

Medical Visa

Over the last few years, the development of Iran’s medical system has led to an increasing demand for medical treatment in this country. The medical visa, also known as the T visa, is one of the 12 types of Iranian visas for foreign tourists, which has been issued specifically for those who seek to receive beauty, medical, and health services in Iran.

Document required for the Iranian Medical Visa

The required documents for issuing an Iran medical visa or T visa include:

1. A letter from a specialist indicating the need to receive treatment in Iran;
2. Pictures of related medical records such as ultrasound, radiography, etc.;
3. Recent personal photo with a plain background
4. image of the front page of a passport with at least 6 months of validity;
5. The IPD letter from the hospital

Document required for American/England/Ireland/Canada Passport Holder

The required documents for issuing an Iran medical visa or T visa include:

1. A letter from a specialist indicating the need to receive treatment in Iran;

Business Visa

Business Visa will be issued for foreign individuals who are interested in having cooperation with Iranian companies. In this case, an Iranian authorized company must be the host.

Work permit visa

This visa will be issued for foreign people who intend to work in Iran. The Iranian host must obtain the work permit in advance from the concerned authorities. You have to ask Iran embassies for it.

Pilgrimage visa

Pilgrimage visa is issued for foreign Muslim pilgrims for the purpose of visiting the sacred places in Iran. No Extra Required documents are needed.

Transit visa

A transit visa is issued for a limited period of time for foreigners who intend to pass through Iran to a third country.

Extra Required documents:

1. Valid visa for third country
2. Confirmed flight ticket for individuals who travel by air

Entry or transit visa for drivers carrying cargo

This visa will be issued for foreign drivers carrying cargo to Iran or other countries. In these cases, it is necessary to coordinate in advance with the Diplomatic Missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Extra Required documents:

Possession of visa for the third country for drivers who carry cargo to destinations in other countries.

Student visa

Student visa is issued for foreign students who intend to study in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Extra Required documents:

Acceptance from accredited educational center.

Extension Visa

Visa extensions, including entry, tourist, and pilgrimage visas, are granted by the Police Department of Aliens Affairs based on justifiable reasons and the approval of the Bureau.

The diplomatic and service visas will be extended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon the request of the concerned foreign diplomatic mission in Tehran.

The work permit visa will be extended by the Police Aliens Affairs Dep. with the coordination of the Department of Aliens Employment at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and on the basis of a request by the Iranian sponsor of the applicant.

Visa extensions are available at the Police Offices of Foreign Aliens in major Iranian cities for up to 2 months.

Visa exempt countries

According to international laws and international agreements, it is possible for citizens of some countries to enter Iran without obtaining a visa through conventional procedures. These people can obtain the necessary permits for entry at the entry points according to the rules and conditions.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt, Malaysia and China will be subject to visa cancellation rules.
